About the program

The Bachelor of Commerce program develops students’ financial literacy, business analytic and decision-making skills, leadership, and management skills through experiential learning and authentic assessment tasks relevant to the choice of major.

This degree equips students to think creatively and critically, problem-solve, communicate professionally, work collaboratively, make ethical and responsible business decisions, and work effectively in an ever-changing and increasingly complex global business environment.

In the Bachelor of Commerce, students complete a major which specifically prepares them for a professional career in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics or Finance fields. By undertaking a specified set of subjects according to their chosen discipline, Bachelor of Commerce students graduating with an Accounting, Actuarial Science or Finance major are eligible to pursue professional qualifications offered by their field’s governing bodies.

Accounting

A major in accounting from Bond University will give you entry into a respected and enduring global profession and substantial options when choosing a career. Forget about being labelled as a “number cruncher”, an accountant plays an influential role in the achievement of an entity’s entire range of objectives – not just the financial ones. Accountants are needed in government, NGOs, charities, universities, businesses of all structures and sizes, and more. The range and content of our subjects in our accounting major will give you the knowledge and skills from which you can set your sights on a role as a financial accountant, management accountant, auditor, tax specialist, business consultant, business analyst, treasurer, finance manager, or if none of these appeal to you, a very savvy business owner or entrepreneur. With a wide range of authentic assessment that reflects actual practice, this major will take you places.

Mode

On Campus and Remote

Due to current travel restrictions, this program will temporarily be delivered using a mixture of on-campus, remote and multi-modal classes to support and engage all students, from all parts of the world.

The January semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format, with classes designed to support and engage all learners. Whether they’re on campus or abroad, all students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional and personalised learning experience through dynamic and interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.
