Our program is designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving industry, incorporating principles of sustainability (economic, environmental, social and political) in tourism management and planning. Within the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies, our program examines such questions as: Can we balance the economic benefits of tourism with the negative consequences of pollution, loss of biodiversity, economic inequality and unsuitable cultural change?

Allied with the Goodman School of Business, the Tourism Management stream offers a range of business-related courses. In the Co-op program, you’ll gain valuable work experience.

You may take advantage of our international field courses, exchange programs and internship opportunities with such industry leaders as Disney to explore tourism issues in diverse destinations worldwide.

The Tourism Management stream Co- op program combines academic and work terms over a four year period. Students spend the first two years in an academic setting where their exposure to courses in the area of Tourism Management provides the necessary background for the first work placement. In addition to the current fees for courses in academic study terms, Tourism Management stream Co-op students are assessed an annual administration fee.

Applicants must have Senior Secondary school credential appropriate for entry to university in your home country; academically rigorous grade 12 year; Minimum B- average (higher for some programs). Applicants who have successfully completed the IB diploma with the appropriate prerequisite subjects will be considered for admission. Students must have completed a (Grade 12) Senior High School Graduation Certificate (3 Years) plus final transcript showing Grade 12 first and second term grades. English proficiency requirements: IELTS - overall 6.5, no band below 6.0, TOEFL - overall 88, with minimum 21 on speaking and 21 on writing, MELAB - overall 85, no other part under 80, CAEL - overall 70, no other band score under 60, IELP Level 5 - Successful completion of Level 5 of the Brock Intensive English Language program.
