Study the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) and kick-start your career as an Occupational Therapist - a rewarding career that allows you to work with people experiencing barriers in their everyday lives as the result of impairment, disability or disadvantage.

The course is designed to ensure you are equipped with an underpinning knowledge in professional practice, human body systems, psychology and contemporary healthcare.

Your education and training will include occupational therapy courses covering a wide range of practice contexts, and you will develop highly-desired skills in areas such as assessment, service development, evaluation and critical thinking, enabling you to graduate work-ready.

The course has a strong focus on practical learning experiences and you will benefit from industry placements across a range of practice areas, including the purpose-built Allied Health Clinic at CQUniversity Rockhampton.

COURSE STRUCTURE

You are required to complete 26 core units. Units in professional practice contribute to the attainment of 1000 hours of professional practice.

Successful completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 12. An approved university foundation studies or formal Australian Certificate IV can also be taken to meet this entry requirement. Gao San (Senior Middle 3) - Grade average of 80% or Satisfactory completion of one year study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution. English requirements: IELTS Academic - 6.0 with no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-based - Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17; Pearson Test of English Academic - Overall score of 54 with no score less than 46; Cambridge English: C1 Advanced , Cambridge English: C2 Proficiency - Overall test score of 169 (with no individual band score of less than 162).
