The Master of Urban and Environmental Planning is Australia's only postgraduate program that equips you with the qualifications to work as a traditional town planner as well as an environmental professional.

Taught by leading Australian and international academics in urban and regional planning, environmental planning, transport planning, social and cultural planning, and tourism planning, the programs cover the theoretical knowledge and practical skills planners need to deal effectively with contemporary planning and development challenges.

My career opportunities

This program meets the accreditation requirements of the Planning Institute of Australia. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to respond to emerging planning and development challenges. It sharpens students' ability to evaluate, analyse and create innovative solutions, and communicate them effectively. Students are readied for employment in government, the private sector and non-governmental organisations in areas that include planning and urban policy, development preparation and assessment, transport and local area planning, and regional and strategic planning.

For standard entry into most master degrees, you must hold a bachelor degree or higher (or equivalent) from a recognized university. You must meet minimum Grade Point Average entry requirements. IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or TOEFL: a minimum score of 575 or Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) or Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50 or ISLPR: no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR.
