Expand your horizons by combining your passion for the arts with a computer science degree, and open up exciting opportunities in the computing and technology sectors and beyond.

This dual program allows you to satisfy your logical, technical, creative and curious sides all at once, as you develop deep knowledge in computer science and broad transferable skill sets through your study in arts.

Your studies in computer science will combine the theory of algorithms and data structures with the practical challenges of implementing them in hardware and software systems. Skills learnt in this program are used in fields ranging from bioinformatics to digital humanities, where sophisticated knowledge in programming and data analysis are used to manipulate massive data sets.

The Bachelor of Arts component allows you to choose from a wide variety of majors to either complement your computer science studies or your knowledge in another field, which can help you find a future role in a related industry. The broad skill set you develop through the program will help you apply your computing knowledge and skills outside of the technology sector.

You'll graduate as a candidate who combines excellent technical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with polished communication skills and honed creativity.

Professional Writing and Communication

Gain the professional communication skills necessary for a contemporary workplace.

Study includes multimedia storytelling and production, media design, public relations writing, editing and publishing practices.

This major will prepare you for careers that require clear writing and creative communication in print or digital modes.

IB score varies based on the subject taken. International Baccalaureate Diploma Scores: Minimum of 26 - 42. To be offered a place in an undergraduate program, you need to have successfully completed Queensland Year 12, or a qualification equivalent to Queensland Year 12, with the required minimum entry score for the program you're interested in studying. English Language Scores: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; BE: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
