In Canada, many professional programs require university coursework before you may apply to the professional program. The University of Winnipeg's smaller class sizes, research opportunities, and strong reputation for academic excellence will give you the advantages you need when applying to your professional program of choice. If you change your mind or cannot gain acceptance to your professional program, all of your UWinnipeg courses can be applied towards a bachelor's degree. International students should note that entry to professional programs in Canada is extremely competitive, and not all professional programs are open to international students. We encourage students to do their research and to have a strong backup plan.

Chiropractors help individuals achieve a comfortable state of functioning. They assess conditions related to the spine, nervous system, and joints, and treat them primarily by mechanical adjustment. Some chiropractors specialize in areas related to athletic injuries, diseases, children’s disorders, or mental and nervous disorders.

The University of Winnipeg is an excellent place to fulfill the entrance requirements of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College or other chiropractic schools. Each chiropractic school has its own entrance requirements. To meet the entrance requirements of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, you will complete a three-year (90 credit hour) degree. You will graduate from The University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. The degree you earn will depend on your course selection and interests; while there are required and recommended courses, there is no one degree or program that is required for entry to chiropractic.

In your final year of pre-professional studies at The University of Winnipeg, you will apply for admission to a chiropractic school. Admission to chiropractic is based on academic achievement, an essay, and a personal interview. At least four more years of study are required to complete a doctor of chiropractic degree.
