Becoming a student of our Biology program will allow you to engage your curiosity and use your degree to meaningfully contribute to society.

Emerging diseases, environmental sustainability, and genomics are just a few topics that you will investigate. At TWU, you will be prepared for a career in the health sciences, research, or education, with solid training in science and ethics from a Christian worldview.

Our biology faculty is experts in their fields who integrate research, love for teaching, and Christian faith in the classroom. As a biology student, you will have the opportunity to work with faculty on cutting-edge research in cell biology and genetics, ecology and environmental biology, and applied and medical microbiology. This valuable research experience, coupled with our rigorous curriculum, can lead you to high-profile medical, dental, veterinary, and graduate programs around the world.

AFTER GRADUATION

Graduates of the Biology program are well prepared to continue their studies toward degrees in the Health Sciences, including Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy. Graduates of the Honors program are also well prepared to excel at Master's and Doctoral Studies in the Life Sciences. Our Biology graduates can go on to other vocations, including such as teaching, research, and environmental fields.

Students must have standing in five subjects of which at least two must be taken at the Advanced level. Students may be eligible for three semester hours of credit for each Advanced level course completed to a maximum of 12 semester hours provided that a minimum grade of C is achieved in that course. Departments will determine if credit awarded is general or course specific. The following equivalents will be considered: School Certificate: same as GCE with at least two passes at the principal level of the Higher School Certificate. Certificate of matriculation from recognized universities. International Baccalaureate with at least two subjects at the higher level. English Language Scores: (TOEFL) - Test of English Foreign Language Internet-Based Test: Overall Score: 88 with a minimum score of 21 in each of the four areas and a TWE of at least 5. (IELTS) - International English Language Testing System (Academic): Overall score: 6.5 with 6.0 on Writing Band. (CAEL) - Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: Overall score: 70.
