Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour. It is one of the most interesting and challenging areas of scientific inquiry with the potential to benefit both individuals and society as a whole. Topics of study include learning, memory, cognition, perception, neuroscience, and developmental, forensic, social, and abnormal psychology. You will gain an integrated and comprehensive knowledge in the main discipline areas of psychology and develop strong research, analytical and communication skills. This degree allows you to study for an accredited three-year degree in Psychology at the same time as undertaking a complementary major in a number of related areas. Majors include marketing, human resource management, management, criminology, linguistics, philosophy, vision science and neuroscience.

This degree offers great flexibility – students can focus just on psychology, loading up their program with a variety of free electives, or may choose to take a complementary major.

At the completion of this degree you can head into the workforce or continue along the path to becoming a registered psychologist by completing an additional fourth year Honours in Psychology.

Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited three-year undergraduate sequence in Psychology and the first step on the six-year pathway to becoming a registered professional psychologist.

Applicants should have a high school qualification, UNSW Foundation Studies, UNSW Diploma, recognized prior study or university transfer. English Language requirements: IELTS Academic version only: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest).
