In recent years, interest and industry demand for business analytics specialists has increased significantly. The quality, quantity and diversity of data available has never been greater, with many organizations relying on the expertise of business analysists to inform decision making and strategic direction. As a result, career opportunities in this area have boomed.

The University of Newcastle’s Bachelor of Business Analytics focuses on emergent issues in business. You’ll develop the skills needed to implement and oversee data-driven business decisions and will offer you a competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving employment market.

What you will study

When you study a Bachelor of Business Analytics, you’ll explore the key concepts, benefits, and challenges of big data analytics and data visualization. You’ll apply statistical and machine learning-based predictive models in analytics to various business contexts and learn how to effectively communicate business data to stakeholders.

There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
