This degree will equip you to explore the interconnections between food security, agriculture and the environment, social stability, health, plants and animals, and the sustainable use of resources.

Opportunities are rapidly emerging for entrepreneurs to lead a new food future. Immersed in an approach that integrates social, economic and environmental values, students will view plant and animal production from consumer contexts to explore personal and community perceptions about food sustainability.

This innovative degree merges topics of agriculture, food and health to empower students to design solutions for international development, community education and the urban–rural interface. Throughout study, engagement with industry and community will inspire students to take action towards a more sustainable food future. The course includes disciplines of natural science, social science and business studies.

Students must have Australian Year 12 Higher School Certificate in or outside Australia; International Baccalaureate in Australia; New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), Level 3. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic version): 6.5 overall score, minimum 6.0 in each subtest; TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 82, Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50; Successful completion of three years (Gao San) with a minimum score for entry to Second Tier universities in China from the National Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) cut off thresholds for Science and the relevant province, or successful completion of the first year of a Bachelor’s degree at a recognized university.
