Philosophy helps sharpen your ability to analyze, to question accepted beliefs and to express ideas clearly. The critical thinking skills acquired in studying Philosophy are highly transferable: students consistently outperform others on standardized exams for law, medical, business and graduate schools.

Small classes = big advantage

Discussion in our small classes will help you develop a better understanding of different points of view and to become a better thinker, debater and writer. Philosophy majors are encouraged to participate actively, ask questions and argue for or against the theories and ideas that have been presented; this prepares you exceptionally well for a career in law, medicine, teaching, diplomacy and more.
