在考試的時(shí)候，我們有時(shí)會(huì)遇到一些與節(jié)日和傳統(tǒng)文化有關(guān)的口語和寫作題目，大家都喜歡用我們中國的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日當(dāng)作素材來進(jìn)行回答，但是往往由于自己的語料積累工作沒有做到位，最后仍然沒有得到自己希望的成績(jī)。今天，留學(xué)監(jiān)理網(wǎng)的老師就來教大家把春節(jié)徹底介紹清楚。

起源/Origin

Once upon a time, there was a monster called “Nian” who lived in the cave and woke up once a year. When it’s awake, it left its habitat and ate people. After feeding him a banquet, it returned to another year-long sleep. People at that time were frightened until one day one of them came up with an idea that they could wear red clothes and set off the fire crackers to keep it away as Nian was afraid of noise and the colour of red. People were convinced and followed this method. Scared by the noise and red clothes, Nian didn’t show up. As a consequence, people celebrated peaceful life by setting off fire crackers every year which was called “Guo Nian”.

As the most important and influential traditional Chinese festival, the Spring Festival is celebrated in various ways from place to place throughout China and other countries in the world including Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, etc. 

Common celebrations including:

Family Reunion Dinner/團(tuán)圓飯;

Eat dumplings/吃餃子;

Eat Niao Gao cake/吃年糕;

Temple Fair/廟會(huì);

Dragon Dance/舞龍;

Lion Dance/舞獅;

Set off firecrackers/放鞭炮;

Visit relatives/串門;

Hang red lanterns/掛紅燈籠;

Give red envelope/pocket money/送紅包、壓歲錢;

Honour the deceased relatives/祭拜親人;

Wear new clothes/穿新衣服;

Because of the rapid development of economics, more and more Chinese people celebrate the Spring Festival in a modern way, one of which is traveling. Chinese tourists have been reported occupying the shopping malls and resorts in some of the most famous cities in the world such as Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York, LA, London and Paris. 

For those who wish to stay at home, the Spring Festival TV Gala is still a major entertainment. CCTV produced the first Spring Festival TV Gala in the 80s last century which was a stir in the society as a ground-breaking TV program. Now, people could see many TV Galas produced by different TVs during the holidays. Some audience don’t like it and think it’s “old school” and a bit boring. After all it has been and still is the most exciting worth-expecting TV program for some Chinese households.

Sample Answer:

Speaking of my favorite festival, I’d like to talk about the Spring Festival which is, no doubt, the most important and joyful festival in China. I am originally from Tianjin and work in Beijing. As I am busy with my work and other chaos of life, I hardly have time to contact my parents, relatives and friends. It makes the Spring Festival the most precious time to stay with everyone I love and people who care me. I am always very excited to buy the train tickets in advance and bring new clothes, shoes, foods and money to my parents at home. As I am very close with my classmates and friends so we always book a room in KTV and sing, talk, drink for a whole night. Even though we have 7-day holiday for the Spring Festival, I do wish I had a longer holiday so that I could spend more time with my family and friends. After all, the Spring Festival is all about happiness, joy and family reunion. I love this festival and I will tell my children how we celebrate it and what the real meaning of the Spring Festival.
